Speaker:

Um, I'm getting a little older.

2

:

I appreciate you saying no.

3

:

But from a distance, you

can't see the gray hair.

4

:

But once you get up close, you like,

Oh, this brother's getting old.

5

:

You know what I'm saying?

6

:

And as you get older, you start to

realize that slum up some of the slang

7

:

terms you use are no longer in fashion.

8

:

Did you ever notice that?

9

:

You say things and people are like,

I don't know what you're talking

10

:

about, you know, or you hear things

and you're like, what does that mean?

11

:

And so I reached that, that,

that status in my life now.

12

:

And that's pretty humbling for me

because I want to be in the know.

13

:

Uh, but, but I do try to stay in the

know with my kids there and even drop

14

:

some lines on them that they don't know.

15

:

I'm like, Oh, you didn't

know that one, did you?

16

:

And so anyhow, I've been watching the NBA

playoffs and uh, you know, we obviously

17

:

have some political stuff going on.

18

:

There's a lot going on in the world.

19

:

But there's a lot vying for

positions to be, you know, back

20

:

in the day, we would say the man.

21

:

And like, yo, he's the man.

22

:

That dude's a beast.

23

:

He's a savage.

24

:

You guys get what I'm saying?

25

:

I'm seeing some people nod their heads.

26

:

You know what I'm talking about.

27

:

Okay.

28

:

But things change and, you know,

there's some new terminology,

29

:

uh, that's taking place.

30

:

Like, he's him.

31

:

See the young people got that.

32

:

The old folks, y'all didn't get that.

33

:

You're like, what'd he say?

34

:

Or, uh, you know, that's, he's that

guy or she's that girl and, uh,

35

:

meaning that they're the man or

the woman, you get what I'm saying?

36

:

And so as I've been, you know, hearing

these things and thinking about these

37

:

things, it made me start thinking

about Jesus, how Jesus really is him.

38

:

He's the himothy.

39

:

He's that guy.

40

:

And so that's actually the title for

our sermon today is Jesus is that guy.

41

:

And for my old folks, I help you out here.

42

:

Jesus is the man.

43

:

Okay.

44

:

All right, just so that you

know what we're talking about.

45

:

Okay.

46

:

All right.

47

:

So Jesus is that guy.

48

:

Can we go to the father in prayer?

49

:

Let's go father.

50

:

We are so grateful for who you are

the fact that Jesus reveals you to us

51

:

the fact that we get a chance to call

you father Abba daddy because of our

52

:

relationship with you through your son.

53

:

Father, I've been excited.

54

:

I've been inspired over the last

couple of days and especially just

55

:

delving more into this, uh, topic of

your son, Jesus, and seeing who he

56

:

is and being able to appreciate again

all that he is and all that he does.

57

:

Father, I pray right now that you

will allow us to be in awe of you.

58

:

You allow us to be inspired and come

away with stronger convictions about who

59

:

you are, how much you love us and our

response to all of that in Jesus name.

60

:

Amen.

61

:

We're going to study out a little

bit of the book of Colossians.

62

:

And so, uh, the apostle Paul wrote

a letter that To the church that met

63

:

in the city of Colossae and, uh, he

really is trying to, uh, refute and

64

:

deal with some false doctrine that's

starting to take place in the church.

65

:

And really this doctrine, we don't

know the particulars of it, but we

66

:

do understand that basically what's

taking place is, you know, they need

67

:

to correct that, that somehow Jesus

was being lowered in their view.

68

:

And so Colossians is really trying to

help the church there, uh, uh, get away

69

:

from this false doctrine and remember

who Jesus is in our response to Jesus.

70

:

And so we're going to take it

up in Colossians chapter 1.

71

:

Church, are you with me?

72

:

Colossians chapter 1, it reads, Paul,

an apostle of Christ Jesus, by the

73

:

will of God, and Timothy, our brother,

to God's holy people in Colossae, the

74

:

faithful brothers and sisters in Christ.

75

:

Grace and peace to you

from God, our Father.

76

:

We always thank God, the Father of our

Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you.

77

:

Because we have heard of

your faith in Christ Jesus.

78

:

And of the love you have

for all God's people.

79

:

The faith and love that spring from

the hope stored up for you in heaven.

80

:

And about which you have already heard.

81

:

The faith of Jesus Christ.

82

:

And love that spring from

the hope, uh, well, that's

83

:

something happened there, right?

84

:

Okay.

85

:

All right.

86

:

Uh, the whole sort of for you in heaven

about what you have already heard in

87

:

the true message of the gospel that

has come to you in the same way.

88

:

The gospel is bearing fruit and

growing throughout the whole world.

89

:

Just that is has been doing

among you since the day you

90

:

heard it and truly understood.

91

:

God's grace.

92

:

You learned it from Epaphras, our

dear fellow servant, who is a faithful

93

:

minister of Christ on our behalf.

94

:

And who has also told us of

your love in the spirits.

95

:

We'll stop right there.

96

:

Then he goes on in verses nine

through 14 and talks about the

97

:

prayer that he has for the church.

98

:

And then we take it up in verse 15.

99

:

He says, the son is the image

of the invisible God, the

100

:

firstborn of all creation.

101

:

For in Him, all things were created.

102

:

Things in heaven and on earth.

103

:

Visible and invisible.

104

:

Whether thrones or powers or

rulers or authority, all things

105

:

have been created through Him.

106

:

And for him he is before all things and

in him all things hold together And he

107

:

is the head of the body the church He

is the beginning and the firstborn from

108

:

among the dead so that in everything

he might have the supremacy For god was

109

:

pleased to have all his fullness dwell

In him and through him to reconcile to

110

:

himself all things whether things on

earth or things in heaven By making peace

111

:

through his blood shed on the cross Once

you were alienated from god and were

112

:

enemies in your minds because of your evil

behavior But now he has reconciled you

113

:

by christ's physical body through death

to present you holy in his sight without

114

:

blemish and free from accusation If you

continue in your faith established and

115

:

firm and do not move from the hope held

out in the gospel this is the gospel that

116

:

you heard and that has been proclaimed

to every creature under heaven and of

117

:

which I Paul have become a Servant we'll

stop right there G right now Paul really

118

:

breaks down and he really highlights this

point that Jesus is that guy That Jesus

119

:

is the man a few years ago back in LA.

120

:

I preached a sermon called

Jesus El Presidente You're not

121

:

there was around political time.

122

:

He like Jesus is the president.

123

:

He's the man He's the God and we see

this in the scriptures laid out But

124

:

makes me think who are the people

today that we think are that guy

125

:

who are some of those individuals?

126

:

Maybe it's the Wayne the rock Johnson

He, you know, he swole, he got those

127

:

big muscles, you know what I mean?

128

:

Man, we think it's, uh, I don't know,

Ryan Gosling or Ryan Reynolds and,

129

:

and the actors there or Michael B.

130

:

Jordan.

131

:

Uh, Tom, uh, Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes.

132

:

Lionel Messi, uh, LeBron

James, uh, James Bezos, right?

133

:

Mark Zuckerberg, all these guys, Bill

Gates, all these guys, we can think,

134

:

man, they're that guy, they're the man.

135

:

You know, I personally can

think of, uh, Gabe Strobel.

136

:

I think of Chris Lewis,

you know what I'm saying?

137

:

Chris Kitty Barber, right?

138

:

I can think of those guys.

139

:

I think of Charles Lennox,

you know, like mine.

140

:

They're the guy, you know what I'm saying?

141

:

That's that dude right there, you

know, but usually when we think

142

:

of this, what are the reasons?

143

:

Why?

144

:

Usually what they maybe have money power.

145

:

They're very intelligent.

146

:

People we think are, are

charismatic, uh, best in their

147

:

field, or just flat out cool.

148

:

Right?

149

:

These are the people, the traits

that we think of when we think

150

:

of people being that guy, that,

that, that, that guy or that girl.

151

:

But this passage reveals that Jesus

is more than all of them together.

152

:

That Jesus is far superior than any

man who's ever walked the earth.

153

:

Than any woman who's

ever walked the earth.

154

:

Jesus is all in it all

because Jesus is everything.

155

:

And we see this in the scripture and

we see this and I want us to break down

156

:

this Colossians one Passage and so we

see several things that the Apostle

157

:

Paul mentioned He says an Apostle of

Christ Jesus brothers and sisters in

158

:

Christ faith in Christ Jesus and a

minister of Christ you see for Paul

159

:

he was bringing back the church to

remember that Everything is about Jesus.

160

:

It's all about him.

161

:

And so he refers to everything

in accordance into their

162

:

relationship to Jesus.

163

:

You know, oftentimes we can

think of Paul's spirituality.

164

:

We're like, man, Paul is so cool.

165

:

But we forget him.

166

:

Paul would probably rebuke all of us.

167

:

It's not about me.

168

:

It's about him.

169

:

It's about Jesus.

170

:

You know, the term Christian, many of us

know here in the room, the term Christian

171

:

actually came from non Christians.

172

:

In the first century, the brothers and

sisters, they kept going around and kept

173

:

talking about Jesus being the Christ.

174

:

And they were talking about the Christ

came the anointing when the Messiah came

175

:

and they kept talking about it And they

were trying to bring people to the faith

176

:

to know the Christ And so these non

christians they actually started making

177

:

fun of these people and they were like hey

Those are those people that keep talking

178

:

about the Christ those little Christ.

179

:

Those are those Christians And you

say, well, why did that happen?

180

:

Because they, that their

life was about Jesus.

181

:

They kept talking about Christ.

182

:

There's a man named Pliny, the younger,

he's now credited as a Roman historian.

183

:

And he wrote a letter in the year

one 10 AD to the Roman emperor.

184

:

And he says, as he mentioned

that the follower of Christ.

185

:

Gathered early in the morning.

186

:

Hallelujah.

187

:

I don't know if this is early

in the morning, but we're

188

:

gathering in the morning.

189

:

He says they gathered early in the morning

to chant a song to Christ as if to a God.

190

:

And so he's taking observation because

the church is springing up is spreading.

191

:

The gospel is moving.

192

:

And he writes this letter and he's like,

hey, they keep talking about this Christ.

193

:

And in fact, they get together in

the morning and they chant songs

194

:

to Christ as if he was a God.

195

:

Yeah.

196

:

Again, this is observation because the

church it was all about the Christ.

197

:

It was all about Jesus and as we go and

we continue we can see why it has to

198

:

always be about Jesus the Christ look

over in Colossians chapter 1 in verse

199

:

15 here We're gonna break this down

some it says the Sun is the image of

200

:

the Invisible God did you catch that?

201

:

Man, it always makes me pause

every time I read that passage.

202

:

I'm like, Whoa, the sun is the

image of the invisible God.

203

:

You see God in the flesh in Jesus.

204

:

That's incredible.

205

:

I mean, just imagine if you were

in the first century and you

206

:

were able to touch Jesus hand.

207

:

You wouldn't even realize, but you

were touching the creator of life.

208

:

To be able to get a hug, to

be able to see into the eyes.

209

:

You're like, well, I'm looking

into the creator of all.

210

:

I mean, that's just, that just blows

my mind to think about that, that he

211

:

is the image of the invisible God.

212

:

And it says he is the first

born over all creation.

213

:

And, and this can have a duality in

its meaning there in, in, in time,

214

:

but really the first born was really

talking about his rank and status.

215

:

really his supremacy as the

firstborn over all creation.

216

:

We go to verse 16 and it says for

in him, all things were created.

217

:

All things have been created

through him and through him.

218

:

For him he created the heavens and

earth what's visible the tangible

219

:

and the invisible The things that we

cannot see thrones and powers rulers

220

:

and authorities He created all of

these and then it says for him Wow

221

:

That's incredible Then we go on and it

says here that in him all things hold

222

:

together You know, we can be impressed

when people are able to balance their

223

:

checkbook, their schedule and get good

grades or do well at their job, right?

224

:

But here we have Jesus.

225

:

He has all these things

and he holds them together.

226

:

He is the creator.

227

:

He is the sustainer of life.

228

:

Jesus is the beginning of creation,

the end of creation, and the

229

:

goal for the end of the world.

230

:

He has the power and he has the

power to hold creation together.

231

:

Jesus.

232

:

Is that guy we continue, it says,

and he is the head of the body in

233

:

everything he might have the supremacy.

234

:

Jesus is the head of it all.

235

:

He's the man in charge.

236

:

He's the boss.

237

:

He is Lord of all.

238

:

He's the shot caller.

239

:

He's our president.

240

:

He's the man.

241

:

He's the boss.

242

:

Says he is the head, the leader,

the head honcho of it all.

243

:

And then it goes on and it says,

for God was pleased to have all.

244

:

Not some, not most, not much, but

all his fullness dwell in Christ.

245

:

All the fullness.

246

:

Is embodied in Jesus.

247

:

When you look at the

sun, you see the father.

248

:

And we want to know what would

God be like as a human being?

249

:

How would he maneuver?

250

:

How would he think?

251

:

How would he behave?

252

:

How would he interact?

253

:

We have that answer in the son, Jesus.

254

:

And we go, wow, Jesus's love,

his patience, his strength,

255

:

his power, his conviction, his

warning, all of that is God.

256

:

And so the fullness of God,

the fullness, how do you have

257

:

the fullness of God captured?

258

:

We can't really, but

it's captured in Jesus.

259

:

So as he walked on earth, we're talking

about God's holy presence touching

260

:

the floor and touching the ground.

261

:

That's His words are the

words of eternal life.

262

:

All the fullness of God.

263

:

Dwells in Jesus we continue it says

through him talking about Jesus to

264

:

reconcile all Things whether things on

the earth or things in heaven by making

265

:

peace through his blood Jesus is one who

reconciles all things there was animosity

266

:

there was tension There was a separation,

but Jesus brings it together Not just

267

:

what's on earth, but what's in heaven,

man, that's a whole theology right there.

268

:

We don't have time to get into,

but all you can say is wow to

269

:

that is that he reconciles it.

270

:

How through his blood, his

precious, his pure, untainted

271

:

blood that was shed up on

the cross for you and for me.

272

:

And the incredible thing

is only he could do that.

273

:

No other saint, no other, uh, patriarch,

no other matriarch, nobody on the

274

:

face of the earth from the beginning

of time from Adam until now could

275

:

actually make peace for you and me

with God because they have sinned.

276

:

So therefore they no longer qualify as a

righteous atonement and sacrifice for God.

277

:

But there's Jesus.

278

:

He's the only one who can and did.

279

:

And then we continue and it says he

reconciled you by Christ's physical

280

:

body through death to present you holy

without blemish and free from accusation.

281

:

Jesus makes you holy, sacred,

separated, and set apart for God.

282

:

He's made you pure and righteous.

283

:

Like man, I don't know if i've ever

had one righteous day in my life, but

284

:

because of christ you are righteous in

god's sight Without blemish you go man.

285

:

I got that perfect figure.

286

:

Well, I don't know about that, but you

got the perfect spiritual figure Without

287

:

blemish and free from accusation we can

accuse ourselves can't we And we can

288

:

definitely have others accuse us But

jesus says before the throne of god you

289

:

stand without accusation That's incredible

Jesus is that God, you know in Hebrews

290

:

and in Acts chapter 3, it says that he's

the author of life the originator and the

291

:

perfecter of our faith Jesus is Lord of

all because of his role in creation and

292

:

because of his role in the redemption of

mankind Jesus is Lord Means he's master.

293

:

He's ruler.

294

:

He's divine.

295

:

He is Lord of all And you know, we

have the election coming up and uh,

296

:

we're not going to talk politics

I know some of you went there your

297

:

blood pressure already started going

up You want to get on your soapbox?

298

:

This is not the time and please

don't do it on social media.

299

:

Okay.

300

:

All right And so here's the thing here.

301

:

It made me start thinking You

know There's many titles and

302

:

roles and authority for the u.

303

:

s.

304

:

Presidents You The U.

305

:

S.

306

:

President is called,

uh, the head of state.

307

:

Uh, some, some other things, the head of

government, the leader of the free world.

308

:

Man, that's, that's a

huge title right there.

309

:

The commander in chief.

310

:

But then when we think about Jesus and

we compare and contrast his titles,

311

:

here are some that we find in scripture.

312

:

He's the wonderful counselor, mighty

God, everlasting father, prince

313

:

of peace, the holy one of God.

314

:

Bright Morning Star, The Lion, The

Lamb, The Beginning and End, The First

315

:

and Last, The Alpha and Omega, Lord

and Savior, Son of Man and Son of God.

316

:

Those are some lofty titles

right there, aren't they?

317

:

Leader of the Free World, Leader

of the Creation and Universe.

318

:

Hmm.

319

:

Jesus is that guy.

320

:

I think the roles and authority

for our presidents, they're the

321

:

executive, the leader of the

executive branch of our government.

322

:

They sign and veto bills, they lead the

armed forces, they appoint judges, uh,

323

:

uh, uh, cabinet members, ambassadors.

324

:

And then we go back to Jesus and we get

reminded of his authority and we go back

325

:

to Colossians one in verse 18, and he

is the head of the body, the church.

326

:

That's the universal church.

327

:

He is the beginning and firstborn

from among the dead so that in

328

:

everything he might have the supremacy.

329

:

For God was pleased to have all his

fullness dwell in him and through him to

330

:

reconcile to himself all things whether

things on earth or things in heaven.

331

:

And so we think if we compare we contrast

Jesus's authority his role and we see

332

:

he's the ruler of heaven and earth.

333

:

He's the head of the executive branch

of the kingdom of heaven His word is the

334

:

law of life We're judged by his word.

335

:

It doesn't just provide it but

that's the standard by which we are

336

:

judged He appoints angels and he can

direct nature wind Fire storms wind

337

:

with sun all that he has control

over that and the power of life and

338

:

death And the forgiveness of sins.

339

:

Jesus is that guy.

340

:

He's the man.

341

:

He's El Presidente.

342

:

Jesus is something else.

343

:

He's someone in which we should

be in all of when we get a

344

:

chance to reflect on who he is.

345

:

And that's really why I'm

talking about this today.

346

:

Because I believe it's so vital.

347

:

For our souls, our faith that we remember

who it is that we serve and follow.

348

:

We need a time where we take a step back

and we reflect and we get a chance to

349

:

appreciate which I believe leads to all

which leads to inspiration and leads to

350

:

more depth in our relationship with him.

351

:

Because we can tend to drift or

easily forget and lose hearts

352

:

when we don't remember, can't we?

353

:

I know for me, you guys, a

lot of you guys have this.

354

:

Uh, you have smartphones and you

have the opportunity with your

355

:

photos to take a picture and it

can blur out like the background.

356

:

You guys know what I'm talking about?

357

:

Some of you have iPhones, you don't

know what I'm talking about, right?

358

:

You can't do that feature, right?

359

:

You can't, Oh, I went there.

360

:

All right.

361

:

I'm sorry.

362

:

You know, I always got to play

with my iPhone people, right?

363

:

All right.

364

:

So, but on phones, right?

365

:

On pictures, right?

366

:

You can, you can have focus, right?

367

:

And what does it do?

368

:

It blurs the background, right?

369

:

And so you see something more clearly,

but it blurs the background, highlighting

370

:

the picture, making it really cool.

371

:

You know, I can do that spiritually

where I start to blur Jesus and

372

:

everyone focused on other things.

373

:

Can you relate and a lot of times

these things are really good.

374

:

They're not bad things But they become

my focus and Jesus starts to fade to

375

:

the background and gets a little blurry

He's there, but he's not in focus.

376

:

You get what I'm saying?

377

:

And so that can affect my faith and

then it affects my demeanor my response

378

:

to life The way I start to think the

way I interact and I see it and and

379

:

honestly then I start to I start to

lose some of the inspiration for what

380

:

I do and I focus in on the frustration

and the challenges and start like,

381

:

man, why am I doing this again?

382

:

Why am I enduring this?

383

:

And really it's because Jesus

went from the focus to the blur.

384

:

And so we need time to reverse that

so that Jesus becomes our focus.

385

:

And other things fade to the background.

386

:

You get what I'm saying, church.

387

:

And so I believe it's so vital that

we get a chance to remember who

388

:

it is that we serve and follow.

389

:

That's what Paul was trying to get.

390

:

Hey, you, you, you got some things going.

391

:

It's getting twisted.

392

:

It's going to wreck, it's going to

shipwreck your faith eventually.

393

:

So let me get you back to him who

is the image of the invisible God.

394

:

The one who's redeemed and reconciled you

through his death and resurrection And so

395

:

us we too need to fix our eyes on jesus.

396

:

That's what it says in hebrews chapter

12 It says fixing our eyes on jesus

397

:

The pioneer and again in the nasb it

says the originator And perfecter of

398

:

our faith for the joy set before him

endured the cross scorned in his shame

399

:

and sat down at the right hand of the

throne of god consider him Who endured

400

:

such opposition from centers so that

you will not grow weary and lose hearts.

401

:

Remembering Jesus helps us to hold on.

402

:

We all have challenges.

403

:

Phone call bills, whatever the case

may be, medical issues, relational

404

:

challenges, doubt in our faith.

405

:

But when we get a chance to fix our eyes

on Jesus, to consider him, it helps us.

406

:

To hold on to remain faithful and

to see his promises fulfilled in the

407

:

present, but also in the age to come,

you know, a chance we get a chance

408

:

now to remember that Jesus is our why.

409

:

A lot of times we want to,

that's the phrase, right?

410

:

Hey, what's your why?

411

:

You got to go back to your

why our why is a person.

412

:

It is Jesus.

413

:

Jesus is our why he's the

reason for everything.

414

:

You know what Jesus is Christianity

We can make Christianity the whole

415

:

lot of things but guess what?

416

:

It's all about him He is Christianity,

there's no Christianity without Christ.

417

:

Try that.

418

:

It's entity Some of y'all

got that He is our hope.

419

:

He is our example.

420

:

He's our faith.

421

:

He's our friend.

422

:

He's our support.

423

:

He's our rock.

424

:

He's our Redeemer.

425

:

He's all that and more.

426

:

It's all about Jesus.

427

:

And so it makes me think

wow, that's incredible.

428

:

Man, the Jesus I serve.

429

:

He's cool.

430

:

The rock might have some muscles,

but he don't have Jesus's muscles.

431

:

Jeff Bezos might have some

money, but he doesn't have the

432

:

treasure of the kingdom of heaven.

433

:

The way Jesus does Ryan Reynolds

might have some cool movies, but

434

:

nobody has the story like Jesus.

435

:

Nessie and LeBron might be great

athletes, but nobody inspires like Jesus.

436

:

This makes me at all.

437

:

It makes me humbled.

438

:

Wow.

439

:

I get a chance to follow.

440

:

I get a chance to be called friend.

441

:

You know, it says that we're

called brothers with Christ.

442

:

What in the world?

443

:

I'm a part of his kingdom.

444

:

I'm saved.

445

:

I'm without blemish free from accusation.

446

:

Hallelujah.

447

:

Praise God the most high.

448

:

Thank you, Lord Jesus.

449

:

You get what I'm saying?

450

:

It leads to all appreciation it leads to

worship and it leads to inspiration to

451

:

do something in response And I believe

one of Or maybe this captures all of it.

452

:

The response is this to honor

jesus Jesus is that guy And as we

453

:

remember that we reflect upon that.

454

:

What should we do?

455

:

Well, we should honor jesus We should

give him our very best We should give

456

:

him the very best, not secondary, not

leftovers, but we give him our lives.

457

:

We come to appreciate him,

be in awe of him, wanting to

458

:

share the good news about him.

459

:

But we fall more and more in love

in our worship and in our following.

460

:

Look what he says, Paul, to the

church in Colossians as he goes on.

461

:

He gets to the therefore he gets to

how should we respond to this Jesus?

462

:

He says so then just as you receive Christ

Jesus says Lord continue to live your

463

:

lives in him rooted and built up in him

Strengthened in the faith as you were

464

:

taught and overflowing with Thanksgiving

in chapter 3 he says and whatever you

465

:

do Whether in word or deed, do it all

in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving

466

:

thanks to God the Father through Him.

467

:

To honor, to worship, to obey Jesus,

not with just most, not with just

468

:

much, but with all that I have.

469

:

And when I remember, I reflect.

470

:

When I'm struggling, I'll get

focused and I'll be inspired to

471

:

do it again for the right reasons.

472

:

You know, realizing Jesus, who

he is, we become in awe of him.

473

:

So this means man, just practically,

all right, I need to read his word.

474

:

I need to become more familiar

with who he is and learn more from

475

:

him and learn more from his word,

building a relationship with him.

476

:

That's intimate, you know,

like trending topics online.

477

:

You go online, right?

478

:

You see what's trending online, whether

social media, Google, whatever, you know,

479

:

Jesus needs to be trending in our souls.

480

:

The number one topic in our minds, in

our conversations, in our thoughts,

481

:

in our goals, in our dreams, in

our actions and in our deeds.

482

:

When we get a chance to focus in

and remember him and honor him.

483

:

When we honor Jesus, we grow in our faith.

484

:

We grow in Christ.

485

:

We stay connected to him.

486

:

We please God because that's the

proper response to the love that God

487

:

has shown us by sending this son.

488

:

But it satisfies our souls, you know

when we're struggling we can remember

489

:

the purpose of everything We could

put Christ back into Christianity

490

:

He could be our why and then it

starts to make sense again and we go.

491

:

Wow, you know what it's worth it And

oftentimes because you know what?

492

:

It's actually fun, too When we put Christ

back into it, we go, man, it's worth it.

493

:

Yes, this is why I'm enduring.

494

:

And you know what?

495

:

When I have that proper

perspective, I have joy that's

496

:

inexplicable to the common man.

497

:

And so as we come to a close, I pray that

we too can gain the proper recognition

498

:

or, or reputation and not doing this

for reputation, but it's all about who

499

:

Jesus the Christ, that he's our savior.

500

:

He's our goal.

501

:

He's our reason.

502

:

He's our ending.

503

:

He's our everything.

504

:

He is our support, our

strength, our friend.

505

:

He's our loyal and faithful leader.

506

:

He is our Lord.

507

:

And so we recognize and acknowledge

that he's a guy and we respond

508

:

by honoring him right now.

509

:

We're going to take communion and it's

time where we remember and reflect

510

:

and recognize Jesus's sacrifice on

the cross for us for our salvation.

511

:

And we take the emblems the bread and

the juice will represent his body and his

512

:

blood that was sacrificed for us And I

want us to close out here in Colossians

513

:

chapter 1 and verse 19 and read this

again it says for God was pleased to

514

:

have all his fullness dwell in him and

Through him to reconcile to himself all

515

:

things whether things on earth or things

in heaven by making peace by Through his

516

:

blood shed on the cross once you yes You

and me were alienated from God and we're

517

:

enemies in our minds because of our evil

behavior But now he has reconciled us By

518

:

Christ's physical body through death to

present us wholly in his sight without

519

:

blemish and free from accusation Let's go

Father, we thank you so much for Jesus.

520

:

God, I'm inspired.

521

:

I'm in awe.

522

:

I just appreciate your plan.

523

:

I appreciate who you are.

524

:

I appreciate that we see you in

the fullness in your son, Jesus.

525

:

Thank you that your son, Jesus,

sent us the Holy Spirit with whom

526

:

we have and dwells within us.

527

:

Hey God, we thank you for Jesus's

blood upon the cross, the pure blood

528

:

that now covers over our sins, washes

and cleanses us, allowing us to have a

529

:

relationship with you with no hindrance,

no stumbling block, nothing in the way,

530

:

but we have eternal fellowship with you.

531

:

We thank you for Jesus, his

titles, his roles in the story

532

:

and for his place in our lives.

533

:

God, we offer this time to you.

534

:

We offer our lives to your response.

535

:

We pray that we can honor you

and grow in Christ in his name.
